Who hasn’t experienced it? You come back from a trip and you’re packed with memories and thoughts. The travel feeling is still thick and you’re not quite ready to let it go. Believe me, I know this too well! And to make the feeling last a little longer I’ve gathered some ideas and proven “methods” you can use to keep your travel memories alive.
Keeping travel memories alive – The ultimate list of ideas

Create a photo book
Admittedly, this idea is not new. But for me, a photo book is still one of the best ways to relive your trip. The best part: Years later, you can still pick up the book and flip through it. On the trips I don’t have a book or album from, I actually miss it …

Draw your way
Especially for road trips, this idea is perfect for capturing travel memories: mark your way on a normal road map. Add overnight stays, special sights, and experiences. Or use a world map to mark your travel countries with a pin and add matching photos.

Memory box
Do you always carry so many little mementos with you? I tend to put rocks, tickets, napkins, etc. in the pages of my travel journal or in my jacket and then forget them there. How about keeping these little items at home in a nice box?
-
Coins
Speaking of items: I usually keep a coin from my travel country when I travel to non-euro countries. At the moment they are stored in an old wallet, but they are supposed to become magnets someday.
-
Playlist
A travel memory that develops during the trip is a playlist. This is super easy today thanks to Spotify and Co. and will take you back to your vacation even years later. The nice thing about it: There will also be songs added to it that you get told by newfound friends, or that run up and down on the radio locally. And maybe one of them will even become the “theme song” of your trip 😀

Charms
Do you remember those charm bracelets that people used to wear? You know, the simple link bracelets that you hung charms on with little carabiners. You can do the same for your trip. Try to find another charm for your bracelet in each place you vacation. Whether you wear it then, or not, you can then still decide 😉
