At LA VIMEA, the first vegan hotel in Italy, they are consistent in their veganism. But in my opinion, a little bit also helps. â’¸ LA VIMEA
Here’s how to support veganism without going to extremes
Are you one of those people who are trying to become more sustainable little by little? If so, here are 7 tips on how to easily give up animal products:
#1 Falafel instead of shawarma
If you want to grab lunch on the go, a falafel sandwich is a great alternative to shawarma, kebab & co. Instead of yogurt, you can choose hummus or sesame dressing (tahini) as a vegan option. Another vegan fast food tip: French fries!
#2 Substitute plant-based drinks for milk
Oats, soy, almonds, rice… there are now many plant-based drinks available to replace cow’s milk. Try which one you like best (I prefer soy milk).
#3 Veggie Gummi Bears instead of wine gums
Animal gelatin is made from animal hides and bones. If you want to avoid it in your candy, choose the ones with the veggie sign, which are now available in every supermarket!
#4 Dark Chocolate Instead of Whole Milk
Dark chocolate contains little or no milk – but milk chocolate does. Plus, the milk used in these chocolates usually comes from conventional farms. Dark chocolate also contains less sugar. Some dark chocolates are also specifically labeled as vegan.
#5 Cook from scratch
You’ll find a lot of E’s on the ingredient list of convenience foods, many of which are of animal origin. When you cook from scratch, you don’t need dyes or preservatives, and you know what’s on your plate.
#6 Natural cloudy juice instead of clear
Clear juices are clarified with gelatin and are not vegan. Natural cloudy juices do not use gelatin and are more natural.
#7 Choose vegan hotels and accommodations
Some sustainable Green Pearlsâ’· partners, such as LA VIMEA in South Tyrol, are completely vegan. Here you can see how a complete menu can work vegan and learn about interesting creations!
