Universal cleaner made from lemon peel

Universal cleaner made from lemon peel

The lemon is a real all-rounder. And that’s why I use it not only for cooking, but also as a useful all-purpose cleaner. The cleaner is a great way to utilize the peel of citrus fruits and also comes without chemicals. The cleaner is lime-dissolving and has a nice fresh smell. Have fun cleaning up!

You need:

500g peels of citrus fruits (e.g. lemon, orange)

500ml table vinegar

A container (e.g. large canning)

Instructions:

  • Cut the citrus peel and layer them tightly in the jar.
  • Add the vinegar so that the peels are completely covered.
  • Leave for at least two weeks (up to four weeks).
  • Refill with vinegar as needed. The peels will soak up the vinegar. However, they should always be covered with it or they can mold.
  • The smell of citrus and a slight coloring of the vinegar will tell you that your cleaner is ready.
  • You can pour the vinegar through a sieve and pour it into a spray bottle (for example, from a previous cleaner).
  • Add a splash of liquid soap or dishwashing liquid to reduce surface tension and provide better grip.
