Sustainable Halloween Decor

Halloween: probably the spookiest day of the year. And one of the most litter-rich days as well. Besides the candy wrappers and costumes, some of which are only worn once, decorations are also to blame.

Instead of buying decorations that you can only use for a year, try some more sustainable versions.

Pumpkins in all sorts of shapes and variations are always a good idea: as decorative pumpkins or dried. And, of course, in their classic Halloween form: hollowed out and carved. Don’t forget to make something delicious out of the good inside.

In addition to all sorts of pumpkin art, you can, of course, break out the craft supplies. Cornflake boxes can be used to make small tombstones, toilet paper rolls can quickly be turned into bats or ghosts. And if you’re feeling particularly ambitious, you can build a small version of Halloween Town out of milk cartons. Paint them black and put lights inside and your little spooky town will even glow.

With a few scraps of wool, you can also make some spider webs to add the finishing touches to your spooky atmosphere.
