It’s wet, cold or the weather is constantly fluctuating? Then it’s also the typical time for colds!
I grew up quite rural and in our family, herbal medicines and home remedies were always a big part. Here are a few of my favorite tips.
The most important one is to drink, drink, drink! Ginger tea with lemon and honey is best.
Alternatively, you can drink golden milk, which is ginger and turmeric. However, I can never drink very much of it.
If you have problems with cough, you can also make your own cough syrup: just put some sugar on an onion. The juice that forms will relieve the cough a little. You can also leave an onion cut open next to your bed at night. It doesn’t smell as pleasant, but it is supposed to help kill the bacteria.
For a stuffy nose, mint oil helps, a few drops in hot water and then hold your nose over it and inhale the steam. But be careful. The steam should not be too hot.
Instead of nasal spray you can also just use sea salt spray, this also takes care of your nasal mucosa and is not addictive.
And the best and most natural remedy of all: Sleep. Because that’s the best way to cure yourself.
