Fabric scraps as cloth towels

Fabric scraps as cloth towels

Imagine the following situation: You are drinking a juice, accidentally knock over the glass and the juice spills out. What do you use to wipe up the puddle of juice? Often, the first thing you do is use paper towels. But that’s not very sustainable. You use them once and then have to throw them away. It’s better to use cloth towels that you can wash afterwards.

The best thing about it: You can simply use leftover fabric! An old T-shirt, a sheet or bed linen are great as cloths! Cotton is best because you can wash it hot, and it doesn’t smear as much and has good absorbency.

Our favorite and most practical cloth rags are my grandpa’s old cloth handkerchiefs. You can throw them in the boil wash, use them several times, and they are a perfect size.
