LOL. I love that it is secluded and virtually untouched by humans. I bet it is such a serene place to be.

Hi Jenica, we love that the resort tries to minimize their impact on nature as far as possible and that they also reduce the quantity of waste. All the waste is separated and then collected to be brought to different places according to what can be recycled. The food waste is gathered by the locals who use it to feed their poultry, and all the plastic is recycled. Besides, the resort aims to reuse as many items as they can. For instance, they upcycle wine bottles to create glasses and vases in the hotel rooms. 🙂

During their tours, they have eco-friendly packaging for the guests which are made of recycled items, and are entirely biodegradable, unlike plastic and other materials usually used in Cambodia. 4 Rivers also has a partnership with CleanBodia, a startup providing innovative solutions to help reduce waste in Cambodia. To replace plastic bags, they produce and sell biodegradable bags, made of cassava starch, a root vegetable grown throughout Southeast Asia.

You should 🙂 Being surrounded by this beautiful nature is incredible and next to being just an amazing resort, there’s so much to discover!

Yes, it is! And it’s amazing to see what they’ve done to overcome the crisis and rebuild the whole resort. 🙂

I am glad to hear they are using solar energy. I’m curious, how did they handle composting at the resort? Was there an option to compost or was it all sent to the trash?
