Sandy Morrissey, President of the Board of the Bronx River Sound Shore Audubon Society and licensed bander, banded our baby bluebirds. All three of our babies, as well as the mother were banded. Greens to Green volunteers joined in the learning, helping to weigh the babies, determine the age and take down measurements. Sandy will study the banded birds year-over-year as part of her ongoing research project comparing the long-term survival rate of bluebirds nesting on golf courses vs. non golf-courses.
